Re: PVC and health
I'm discussing possible health issues not death, nor being a scaremonger. If there are no other members with health issues here that's amazing, and I have my answer, as I have no other way of asking others with similar exposure to PVC if their health has been affected. I know other people having ...

Re: PVC and health
That was not constructive nor on topic, as I asked those with any health related experience. Noted you have not had any health issues - good for you.

Re: PVC and health
Thanks for the clarification. As a manufacturer and seller of products they will naturally say their products are safe, otherwise they will loose profits. If Which tested these products I don't think they would be so straightforward, especially if PVC is tested in 37 degree environment. I prefer to ...

Re: PVC and health
I don't know who PUL is. Our exposure to PVC from raingear is so much higher than that of any study, that it's not comparable to the general public. The normal usage of PVC raingear is not in an indoor setting where the material is heated much more than in an outside setting of cool and rainy ...

PVC and health
As we all know PVC (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyvinyl_chloride#Health_and_safety) is a very toxic material, yet we cannot resist it and wear it on naked skin, some even sleep in it, keep it hanging around the home for its odour, etc. Over years this exposure could result in health issues, and ...

Re: Finding the right nylon fabric
Oz or gms per m/sq m is not very specific or scientific unfortunately, and making it very hard to compare products without physical samples in your hand. In many industries you have ISO standards and QA metrics that enables us to know exactly the difference or similarities, so that the comparison is ...

Re: Finding the right nylon fabric
It shouldn't be hard, and as you say - never been easier to learn with unlimited tutorials.
Ditto - please update with your findings on your samples! Btw - do you have links to what you've sampled?

Re: Finding the right nylon fabric
I will have to buy samples as well, definitely, but for instance the two best candidates I linked above (quality-fabric and technical-fabrics.com), only seem to cater to clothing manufacturers, so what to do - it's so frustrating. Do you sew yourself, or do you have a pro or a company sewing for you ...

Finding the right nylon fabric
Ahoi! I'm currently struggling to find the correlation between the various yarn/fabric definitions of nylon and the fabric in windbreakers/packable rainwear. In particular Dex and Den (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Units_of_textile_measurement). For instance what is the classic Peter Storm 210T/210D ...
