Do you play rainwear "dares" with yourself?

Post by Plastic Max »

I am reasonably happy to wear my raincoats most anywhere, but do have certain comfort levels that I don't like to exceed. For instance, I will happily wear my red pvc raincoats in and around my home area and when on holiday, but I don't feel comfortable wearing them - or some of my other ladies raincoats - when on business.

But I do like the thrill of being out in something a bit edgy, so sometimes I play a dare with myself. If I am going out to a business meeting when it is dry but the forecast for later in the day is rain I might, for instance, fold up one of my more feminine raincoats into my briefcase and then if it does rain, I have the dilemma of whether to get wet, or whether to wear an obviously feminine style raincoat and keep dry.

I recently had to go to visit a client on the continent, which involving flying out of London. I took a carry-on bag with me and also took my blue Primark mac from few seasons ago (the solid colour ones with the big popper buttons and half-belt at the back).

Dare 1: If the airline had objected to the size of my bag my only option was to slim it down by taking my mac out and carrying it.
Dare 2: If it rained I had to protect my suit so I had to wear my mac.

The airline staff did not object to the size of my bag going out and it didn't rain for the first day of my trip. But it did rain on the return journey so I had the pleasure of wearing my mac, properly fastened all the way to to the neck with the hood up, while I was walking to the train station on my way to the airport. Of course, I couldn't cram a wet mac back into my bag so I had to carry it all the way from then onwards until I got home.

Simple pleasures.

I have gone out in my rubber suit & rainwear over that so ... for obvious reasons I am quite unable to remove or undo anything lest anybody see what I am wearing underneath!! Obviously I'm in trouble if it stops raining ....................... LOL

Simple pleasure of going out in wellingtons / waterproof trousers & mac (pvc or nylon) - nothing else on but pair of socks
Walk round the streets or in the woods with the dog dressed like that & see how you feel...

Mason, That must give you quite a thrill - not only for what you are wearing underneath your raincoat but also to for the potential of having to keep your raincoat fully fastened if the weather turns dry. Two times the excitement!

I have worn a high-neck red PVC long-sleeve dress over my jeans with a small padlock over the the neck fastening of the dress then put my Weathervain SBR trench over the top, having to button it all the way up to hide the collar of the dress, then left the key to the padlock at home and gone for a walk for about one-and-a-half hours or so. I can't unfasten the coat nor really stop to talk to anybody because the dress is just a little visible above my coat and also if the bottom of the coat - or the rear slit - flaps too much in the wind it will expose the bottom of the dress. The thrill and excitement of going out like that is gives me one heck of buzz.

Happy times.

I have worn a couple of my ladies macs out but one was black...the other dark blue.....and without close inspection as to which side they buttoned up hardly noticeable

If anyone did notice I wasn"t aware of it

Most of my ladies macs are eye catching colours....nice to wear out in a secluded area accompanied by another mac enthusiast

Yes ,I have don it ,some years ago: 8-)
I was on a holiday trip at my sister-in-law in Hildesheim, Germany with my wife.
On a day when rain was expected later on the day ,we went by train to visit Celle ,another German town.
My wife and sister took their umbrella's with them ,I didn't want an umbrella , and took my cape with me in the rucksac . The whole day it stayed dry ,but on our way back in the train to Hildesheim it began to rain.
From the train station to my sister's-in -law home we had to walk half an hour throuhg the city .The ladies took their umbrella's and I had to put on the cape ....
Nobody looked at me ,most Germans are the same as other people ... they are busy with their own to stay dry.It was the first time I wore the raincape in public.

In some days we go to another place in Germany for a three weeks holiday and I will do the same with my P.U.L. cape, it is good possible to do ,if it is a warm day ,dry weather with perhaps some rain later ,and you are not home again from a tour through the Bavarian mountains..
Greetings ,Peter

It's been raining a lot here in South Wales, UK, lately. Today, it has been raining so I decided that I would take my see-through plastic jacket when we went out and no other rainwear so that I had no option but to wear my plastic jacket.

The jacket went on before we left the house and my wife and I got in the car and drove to a golf club about 12 miles away. The jacket stayed on while I was driving the car and it was still raining when we got to the golf club. We then got the golf clubs out of the car and walked in the rain to the driving range. As the wind was blowing the rain into the driving range, I left my jacket on all the time. We then went to the bar in the club where I draped my wet jacket over the back of a chair while we had a drink.

On the way home we called into a supermarket about 5 miles from home. As it was raining quite heavily, the plastic jacket had to go on again to walk from the car to the the supermarket. I then did something I have never done before; I kept my see-through jacket on the whole time that we were in the shop. We even met a couple of people that we knew and they stopped for a chat. As far as I am aware, I had no strange looks and certainly no comments. It all seemed quite natural.

I had a great time and felt really good. The weather forecast shows rain for the rest of the week so I intend to repeat the experience again over the next few days.

Regards,
Jeff.

Nice one Jeff.....

I have often wondered why people are so self conscious of what others may say in what they wear

If the weather forecast is right your see-through jacket should see plenty of use over the next few days

My nylon macs have never seen so much use as this year...even met up with a friend and had a most enjoyable walk in my red Dannimac nylon mac

Hi Peter,

At least one hundred people must have seen me in my see-through plastic jacket today. Of those, only two people knew me, I used to work with them a long time ago. What if any, or even all, of those people thought that I was a bit strange ? Does it matter ? They may say to someone "I saw a really strange looking bloke today in the supermarket wearing a see-through plastic mac, looked a bit of a perv !" If so, it really doesn't matter beacause I know that I am not a perv but just someone who feels good wearing that particular material. After all, I have no intention of raping anyone or molesting anyone, I am just wearing something that gives me a lot of pleasure.

I feel that people are like sheep when it comes to what is acceptable to wear and what isn't. If they had been around in the 1950's, they too would probably be wearing a see-through plastic mac as did so many men and women in those days.

I'm too old to worry about what people think now. I just want to enjoy myself whenever I can without causing any harm to anyone.

Regards,
Jeff.
