Mackintosh Enthusiasts in ESSEX

Post by mackman98uk »

I am a long time enthusiast for rubber mackintoshes and I have a large collection, including Double and single texture, SBR, Rubber/latex and I have 2 of the new Double Proofed Rubber Macks from Weathervain. Am looking for someone who shares my interests and a possible meeting in Essex - Chelmsford/Billericay area. Walking ou fully Mackintoshed, maybe photography, video etc. Happy to share my macks with a like-minded enthusiast.

Hi macman98uk. You say that you have bought two of the double rubber macks from Weathervain. I had a sample from them, but found it to be "dimpled" or textured, and not as smooth as I want. Did you find this to be true, or did the end result be all that we rubber mack lovers desire. Your observations would be most welcome.

Yes, I have a trenchcoat and a Hussar, both in grey double proofed rubber and they are just perfect. The best rubber macks I have ever had. I have some pictures on my Flickr pages. I Think this is the link if you would like to see them.http://www.flickr.com/photos/mackman98uk

Hi mackman, I am a mac enthusiast from Essex. Up until earlier this year I bad a thick black rubber trenchcoat from Weathervain that I used to wear most days to work in the winter and had no problem with wearing in public, but the weather dictates, unfortunately that particular coat gave up the ghost and ripped. Since then I have been wearing PVC raincoats when the weather dictates but hope to get a new rubber coat when I have the funds. Would love to chat further regarding a raincoat walk as often dress in rubber and PVC in public. Look forward to hearing from you, loo

I am based near Harlow, but can travel. Do you know any suitable places for a mackintoshed walk?
