Childhood rainwear memories

Post by mason »

Do any of you (particularly those from America) remember wearing classic yellow slickers like these with buckle clasps and detachable helmet hoods?

These wonderful examples date way back to the mid-late fifties

Oh yeah, when I was 5-6 years old nearly every boy in my class had one of these (and that was as recent as 1975-76)...although mine just had an attached hood instead of the "helmet" hat. Good times.

They're very, very hard to find on e-bay. The chances of finding a new, unopened one would be about on a par with winning Tattslotto. How much do you reckon they'd be worth now?

Hard to put a price on it...given some of the crazy prices we've seen on ebay, I'd have to cop out & say "whatever someone's willing to pay for one".

resurrecting this thread - look what I just found on ebay! Anyone want it? It actually appears to be reasonably priced

I'd forgotten about this thread - I've actually got a couple of these exactly the same as the one in the auction - if anyone wants one, just let me know.

I'd be happy to let it go for $50 plus postage.
