Folks, this is just getting silly

For some reason, these shiny red Topshop raincoats have been fetching steadily higher prices on eBay during the last 3 or 4 months ... but this is ridiculous. It's only a size 10 as well. I wonder if it'll even sell.
I can't belive I only paid 30 pounds for mine (a brand new sz. 16 with shop tags) a year and a half ago. Looks like a real bargain now!!

Re: More pricing greediness
Fraid not.
I've seen prices of 142 and 100+ pounds reached in auctions recently ... they are going nuts for them

And this is back on ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-70s-8 ... 53ff403532
It seems that if it doesnt sell for £85.00 + £7.00 P&P offer it for £89.99 and Free Post
I guess the saving (£2.01) might make ALL the difference

errr yes!!!!
Re: More pricing greediness
oh yes I saw that one was back Ray. Have to admire the optimism of the seller. Still somebody may be desperate enough for a pakamac they will pay that much and good luck to them.
As for the topshop raincoat. They may have flown off the rails when they were in the shop but you never see anybody wearing one

Hi Merv,
I've seen a few girls in the TopShop red macs. Mainly at theme parks, but a few on the high street.
Plus been over in Ireland for a few weeks recently and i've seen about 9 or 10 people wearing the Dunnes festival macs in green, red or blue and it wasn't even raining!! But then again as they say in Ireland (esp the west) the weather forecast is either "It's raining" or " It's about to start raining"

I dont live in Ireland but watch the Irish racing on tv regularly, has been surprisingly dry there this year, the presenter was actually in shirt sleeves only last week, still the girls there must be used to being prepared
Re: More pricing greediness
Was touring Southern Ireland for two weeks at the end of May early June
Saw no nice macs maybe due to it being great weather - came home with a sun tan!!:)

Broad minded enough to acknowledge we all enjoy different things:)

Hi
Yes the price of vintage rain wear is getting more expensive. A recent pvc raincoat by Goodrich auctioned at £53.00 + £15.00 postage a total of £68.00. I have been looking for a good pakamac for a while and fear it will be crazy money to buy. Where are all the vintage raincoats going? I haven't seen any on the streets, only one from top shop...
