Loving the rainy weather

Post by pvc_pete »

Hi,

Just wanted to mention my experiences this weekend. I was up in Derbyshire near Chesterfield and just like most of the country it was wet.

Around London, i occasionally see the odd shiny mac, but at a garden centre near Chesterfield, I saw 4 in the space of 15 mins. One was a animal print shiny 3/4 mac being worn by a late 40's woman (at first i thought it was one of the Primark ones from a few years ago but i don't think it was).

Then another lady was wearing a dark grey shiny mac with a metallic pattern printed on it, could have been an SOS Jensen one, she was in her 30's.

Then a blast from the past when i saw a 40 something lady in a pvc swing coat from TK Maxx. It was one of the multi-colour heavy shiny pvc ones they sold about 2 or 3 years back (like this http://thumbs4.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/ ... b9DydA.jpg) I bought one in a different colour but the pvc is so heavy and stiff that i have to warm it up quite a bit to make it easily wearable.

Finally i saw another yummy mummy probably mid 30's in one of the older shiny purple patterned pvc Boden Rainyday coats.

All in all a very fine day. Couldn't take any pics as my phone camera is a bit ill at the moment.

Have fun

Pete

Lucky man - sounds like you had a great visit to Us "Up North"

Maybe due to weather "up here" being wetter?

My wife and I were out shopping today in the South both dressed in PVC and sadly we did not see any others similarly dressed, although it was raining hard all day.

In view of the recent wet weather I am surprised we have not seen adverts from the specialised rainwear suppliers in the national press as walking around department stores you see few raincoats of any description on display.

Lucky you. Here in the States we're mired in a deep freeze. Spring can't come soon enough for me. Never mind all the opportunites for going out in rubber or PVC, I'll settle for not being frozen half to death at this point!

Willy,
I think it has beenn just as wet down south, but i think Northern women are much more sensible. Irish women seem to take this approach as well. Fashionable but practical.
