an unexpected bargain

Post by merv »

wanted one of these for a while and finally got lucky. Seems no one else wanted it so for once I was the only bidder. Happy days http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321487213919

and yes I know the postage is a rip off 5 quid for 2nd class is taking the piss but hey ho, that will be reflected in the feedback

Excellent buy!!

There's nothing better than potting a bargain.

I just got a shiny blue sz.42 Rukka (with a belt) for only 25 pounds three weeks ago ... seller didn't have a clue what it was.

It's also in absolutely mint condition.

Merv,
I wouldn't be so quick to judge on the postage.

Royal Mail prices have gone up massively in the last two years and 2nd class is only 5-10% cheaper than first, especially since they have brought in these stupid small vs large parcel rules. For a heavy pvc mac like that I would expect the postage alone to cost around £4 (possibly £5.20 if they can't make it fit the small parcel size.

Also that price is for Post AND PACKING, which includes wrapping and the cost of going to the Post office etc. I've sold a fair few things on ebay and it always pees me off when people bleat about the P&P costs.

Royal Mail postage is a rip off. Someone has to pay for the money they lost privitising it for way less than it was worth!!!

The same thing has happened in Australia.

Although Aust Post has not been privatised (yet), their seriously nasty managing director has been bleating for years about losing money in their "letters" division ... whilst conveniently overlooking the (still) huge profits they're making on their fucking parcel division. They used to focus solely on service but their mindset has changed from service to profits.

Overseas parcel rates have become so high to the extent I'm losing a lot of sales on eBay because of it. I only charge what postage costs on anything I sell, but most people don't want to pay those rates.

I've always wanted to set up my own rainwear biz but by the time I import anything from overseas and resell them on ebay plus postage, the original cost blows out to the extent it just becomes uneconomic selling anything.

All because of fucking corporate greed.
