Topman pvc jackets

Post by Gavin C »

Hi all,

For those who haven't been on their website. TopMan now do pvc jackets - one of which is transparent. I've got a transparent one on order but I'm not due home for a couple of weeks but will give you the rundown then

certainly not cheap are they. Dont think I would be inclined to pay 55 pounds for a plastic jacket. The blue one on offer at 20 pounds looked quite nice but not in my size unfortunately

I would love to see you out in your pvc raincoat and shiny boots, my wife won't wear her shiny raincoats in public, just indoors with stockings and black patent high heel courts or patent slingbacks.

Are there any videos of these jackets being handled or worn? I would like to hear what they sound like before I commit to buy. For me, the noise made by certain types of PVC (typically the 'sticky' or 'clingy' Shiny and Glass Clear type) is part of the material's appeal. I shun semi-transparent, matte, frosted and dull PVC because it is not exhibit the 'crackling' or 'rustling' noise associated with the soft (i.e. highly plasticised) and luxuriously smooth Shiny and Glass Clear materials. Are these clear Top Man coats made from PU or PVC?

No, sorry, it must have been someone else.

If anyone could post a video of the clear jacket being worn or folded-up (so that I can gauge how noisy and clingy/sticky the material is before I part with £50 of my hard-earned money), I would be most grateful. In my experience, the more sticky or clingy the PVC material, the more noise it makes. That lovely rustle, squeak and crackle. Shinier PVC surfaces tend to be more sticky/clingy.

sorry you are of course quite right, this thread has become beyond confusing with the similar names in it, I still quite like one of the blue ones but missed out
