I did some research and wanted to revive this thread ...
The blue / yellow reversible 100% PVC raincoats that were popular in the 80s-90s can still be produced. They are currently made as children's rain wear. I work in international trade, so I did some research and found the company producing them. They've told me that they can be cut to order (even in adult sizes). The caveat, of course, is that a certain minimum order is required. I am curious what the price point of such a raincoat might be among enthusiasts, and how many people could be interested in purchasing one.
I do not intend to make a profit on such an order, but I would like to see if there is enough interest to revive such a wonderful raincoat so that we could all have one (or as many as we would like since this likely would be a one time shot). Does anyone have any interest, ideas, or contributions this thought? I would be happy to orchestrate such a plan, but it would take some doing as a group effort. I'd love to see these raincoats come back - even if it is just among us enthusiasts.
