Reversible yellow blue raincoats- trousers to match?
Reversible yellow blue raincoats- trousers to match?
Hi guys I'm back after a while away. Does anyone know where I can get a pair of the yellow and blue reversible trousers to match the jackets? I know they did used to do them as I remember someone at scout camp when I was a kid wearing them. Also because they were too big he kept stepping on the bottoms of them getting all muddy and ripped so he tore the bottom part off! Couldn't believe my eyes! He had no idea what he was doing to me inside! Lol

Do you mean the "friesennerz" type raincoats with the blue canvas on one side? I've never seen the equivalent in trousers, although I did see a raincape version of the style on eBay recently.

Re: Reversible yellow blue raincoats- trousers to match?
Back in the 1990's, I was lucky enough to find a 2 piece reversible blue / yellow suit in a charity shop, it was made from really soft, slippery smooth yellow PVC on one side and a slightly textured blue PVC on the other, sadly, I made the fatal mistake of making a 'fetish alteration' to the trousers which lead to them tearing beyond practical use, the jacket still lives on in my collection to this day although it's now missing the hood as I kept trying to tie the drawstring too tight and it ended up beig torn out of the hood but it's such a nice material I couldn't just throw it away, I'd already had to do that with the trousers, no way I was doing that with the jacket!

There was definately a suit selling in the 1990s and I think they may have been sold through a newspaper promotion back then. Sadly they weren't all that rugged and the trousers suffered from being a bit long and the kind of PVC didn't take too kindly to contact with the ground and ripped easily. They didn't last a long time in use (I have some Friesennerz jackets and I suspect somewhere I have one pair of trousers but they are pretty unusual to come across today even in charity type shops). They do need treated very carefully and their intended use means that few lasted much beyond a couple of years after they were on the market.

did see a set on sale on ebay a while back, they were too small for me so was no use, would still love one of those jackets
