My wife's and my fun rubber & pu-clad Labor Day weekend has been the high water mark (no pun intended) of the season so far. Since then we've been experiencing near-drought conditions, and we've been crying the blues and singing along to Blind Melon's "No Rain". And it's only getting worse, as while we have a slight chance of sprinkles after midnight tonight, there's nothing else in the forecast for the next 10 days. In fact, it hasn't rained here once since Saturday Oct. 2nd, when we got about an hour and a half of moderate showers, but we couldn't enjoy it since we were both laid up with bad colds. In the last 31 days we've had maybe six days with any rainfall whatsoever, and most of the time we were either still in bed or at work and thus unable to enjoy. The one time we got to actually go out in the rain was Sunday 9/26, but it was a fairly brief light shower & since we were at church we were wearing our more conservative microfiber trench coats instead of our more kinky raingear.
I can't remember the last time I experienced such a depressing, rain-free fall. Here's to a much wetter late October into November.
The worst month (and counting) of my life, weather wise!

*grin* About bloody time though
We got bugger all rain while I was with Chel in the Philippines. It was so dry they were talking about water restrictions - unlike last year when they received one typhoon after another!!
Chel was even teasing me, and saying that the rain hates you!

My wife seems to think it's because we always keep rain gear readily available in both of our cars, that that somehow is keeping the rain away. Problem is, if that were true, then we'd have to leave the raincoats at home in order to experience some rain, and then we'd wind up getting soaked just like all the other ill-prepared souls we usually make fun of.

Yes, it's much better to have your raincoat along and not need it than to need it and not have it.
"Good thing you wore your raincoat,,,,"
"Yeah, otherwise it would have rained."

Keeping my fingers crossed as the forecast calls for a very wet weekend starting early Saturday morning & running all the way thru Sunday evening...and we've got LOTS of errands to run on Saturday! Hopefuly the Mrs. has seen the forecast and is carefully choosing her weekend wardrobe as we speak...
Re: The worst month (and counting) of my life, weather wise!
yeah i am hoping that the forecast stays the course here in Green Bay as my lady is coming over tomorrow and will finally get to test out her new rainboots and rainsuit that I had purchased for her a few months back.
Now I just have to somehow find my son a replacement raincoat as his vinyl spiderman one tore up the backside.
Tried Fleet Farm tonight as that was were i had gotten my daughter a cute Kittie one made by kiddorable but alas they no longer carried any rainwear for kids except those gosh awful plastic wrap ponchos although i did see a yummy Helly Hansen suit in green as well as yellow for 68.00.
Hemmed and Hawed about it for a bit...might go back for it tomorrow...heard they are delicious indeed to wear.
Hopefully tomorrow yields some better results......
