Stormy night

Post by Vxr 15 »

Well what a night last night was, lots of wind and rain forecasted so after watching the weather just before 10 i put on a few layers of clothes before choosing my red Pvc-u-like mac which i took from the cupboard and put on, did up the poppers, tied the hood and belt and then went out into the night. Well it was raining but not hard at that time but as they said it would get heavier around midnight set of. In total i was out for around 3 and a half hours getting wetter and wetter but staying dry also under my pvc mac, had a great time and can't wait until the next storm passes by so I can do it all again :-).

I heard it was going to be very stormy here is south wales as I watched the news at 6 last night, so I decided to go for a drive around the gower coastline, which is even more spectacular when the sea is also stormy here.

It felt wonderful driving through the soaking country lanes dressed in my long Blue Rukka mackintosh, grey hunter wellingtons with a thick floppy rubber souwester on the passenger seat beside me.
I drove to Rhossili beach which is a six mile stretch of sand where the sea can be especially rough along the coast there. I parked the car and spent a few minutes deciding whether to go for a walk, it was too rough even for the locals or tourists so I did'not think I would see anyone else.

It was very windy as I walked along the coast path, but ten minutes into my walk and the rain absolutely hammered down ! The gushing rain slammed onto my souwester and ran in streams down my lovely shiny blue mac - it was absolutely gorgeous. I was enjoying myself so much I failed to see a woman watching me just stand there enjoying the rain while she waited for her dog to catchup with her.
She had to walk past me back to her car and grinned as she went past, not the sort of smile when a walker passes each other but more of a knowing exactly why I was there expression. Anyway she had a very thin nylon trousers and jacket and was totally soaked, whereas I stayed there for over an hour and was perfectly dry!
Was anyone else able to enjoy the good weather?

Had to feel for my partner last night, she lives in West Wales where the rain was pouring down last night, unfortunately she was out of town visiting family and didn't have any of her rainwear or wellies with her! we were on the phone for over and hour and all the while she was staring out of the window at the rain just itching to get out in it but couldn't, I did feel for her, there wasn't even a cloud in the sky here in Scotland where I am!

I love storms - I heard the storm blowing something fierce outside my window last night when I was all wrapped up, it sounded great! And it gives you a good excuse to wear your wellies the next day when you go out!

I love going out into the pounding rain wearing a yellow rainsuit and rain hat. Standing out in the rain when it's slamming down so hard you can't see but a few feet in front of you is great. The deafening sound of the rain, the thunder, the mud, seeing the rain just roll right off of you, all great feelings.

I'm so jealous, there's nothing better than wet rainwear. Every time there' s this sort of weather I seem to be at work.

Was in Bournemouth over the weekend. Went out for a walk late on Sunday evening in my black rainsuit (http://fashionrainwear.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=SU25s), and black wellington boots. Wanted to wear nothing under the suit but it was a bit cold for that! Still felt amazing...
