I have only a couple of PVC raincoats at the moment. One is a long grey fashion mac & the other is a shiny black PUL modern girl rainmac, both purchased at Weathervain late last year. I am not a "modern girl" but a guy who will not see 60 again, but I love wearing this mac around the house, and it is advertised as unisex.
I have been wary of wearing both these coats out in the rain, but just recently have been out wearing one of them and no one takes any notice, which is fine!

go for it, as I and others have said many times in the past other people really are not concerned with what you wear in appropriate situations. You wouldnt wear shorts and tee shirt in a snow storm any more than a plastic mac in a heatwave, keep it appropriate to the conditions and its all fine

But Merv....the idea of wearing a plastic mac in a heatwave definitely appeals to me!

Funnily enough I love seeing a woman in a nylon jacket on a sunny day while everybody else is in t shirts! It's great at festivals when you have to pick an outfit for all conditions you might encounter.
