Stutterheim Raincoats - any experience?

Hey does anybody in here have experience with stutterheim raincoats? Im planning on buying the Stutterheim Stockholm coat for a while now, but as I just found this forum I wanted to ask if anybody here has Stutterheim Raincoats and, if yes, how are they ?

I have one, and I really like it, although if I gain any more weight it won't fit very comfortably. It's made of thick smooth pvc with a cotton canvas lining. It's got a nice roomy hood, solid hardware, and it's well put together and should last for many years. My only real complaint is the cut is a little narrow in the shoulders but the fit in the chest is nice & roomy and the sleeves are a good length. It's great at keeping the rain out and it just looks really stylish. I bought mine when they were having one of their clearance sales a couple of years ago; I don't know if I'd be willing to pay the full $300 USD for one, but I had no problem paying $150 for mine. I'm somewhat disappointed that they don't have much of a selection in my size, but that's probably what has prevented me from buying a second one. It's also disappointing that the current color selection is rather drab - I really wish that they'd bring back the shiny "Opal" coats.

Well, what I meant to say is, the snaps are metal instead of the cheap plastic ones that cheaper raincoats have these days.

I have 3 Stutterheim Raincoats & they are all great . I agree with Bill that they are a little narrow in some of the dimensions for those of us who are no longer "sylph" like in build ( not that I ever was ) ! Stutterheim used to have regular sales & I bought mine then . That doesn't seem to happen now . They at every conscious of the fashion trends & the products are constantly changing . So if you see something you like on their site - it seems best to go ahead & purchase before it is withdrawn .
They do have the "Opal " products , but the only one for guys is a sort of rain poncho . I have a Stockholm Opal and it is great , the best one I have. I wear them all the time . Fortunately California has been wet this winter , so they got a lot of use .

I would get one but they are so pricey. I wish they had long opal rain coats.

Discount sites like Farfetch and Polyvore have them at significantly reduced prices, but unfortunately none in my size. Check them out, you might just find a nice bargain.

I have a blue one from the shiny range.
I don't wear it a lot, the material is a bit too stiff for my likings.
Don't have any experience with the "normal" range, still looking out for a bargain on one of those.

there is a sale on at the moment & they are selling some of the obsolete models - such as the Stockholm Long and some Opals . Always worth checking them out every now & again tom see what they have on offer !

The sale is still in operation but understandably with a reducing number/variety of mackintoshes. The website https://stutterheim.com/uk now has news of a new range of brightly coloured macs designed in conjunction with an Italian company and also the availability of a more lightweight, Rains-type, material for summer wear.
