In the 1953 movie Niagara , featuring Marilyn Monroe and Joseph Cotten , all the women are wearing full length hooded slickers in yellow rubber and all the men are similarly clad in black rubber . There may also have been rubber boots and rubber trousers too but I am not sure.
It was also enjoyable for the passionate kiss between Miss Monroe and Mr. Cotten in full rubber rainwear .........Mmmmmmmm !

I need to dig up some old pictures but yes, I have taken the ride on the "maid of the Mist" and walk in the "Cave of the Winds." We did wear tall Wellies and full length, very heavy rubber coats. It was a wonderful feeling being all snug and cozy with all that water spraying everywhere!

I went there with a group of friends about 10 years ago and we all wore that rainwwear which was fun. Sadly the friend I went with has since died but among photos he left behind I found one from an earlier boat trip he and friends took at Niagara that must have dated back to at least before the mid 1990s in which the men and ladies in the boat were all wearing the shiny black PVC hooded macs that must have been the regular rainwear issued at that time.

I took the ride as a teen ager in 1975. I see since then they have replaced the lovely, heavy rubber coats with cheap plastic. Sad.
