Suzi locked the two doors of the car, pushed the passengers seat forward, and squeezed herself into the back seat, not so easy in a small car when you are a size 16. She scrunched herself on the seat sideways, covering as much as she could with the heavy skirt. She couldn't get her head comfortable, so took off the jacket, turned it inside out, and formed a pillow. Puffing it up she rested her head on the warm plastic which softly formed around her face and she fell asleep, sobbing, the garments aroma somewhat comforting despite her dislike of the material.
She dreamt fitfully of being with Eric, but awoke suddenly as a light flashed by the car window. Sitting up startled she could see a car disappearing up the road. As it went by its headlights illuminated what appeared to be a set of large iron gates on the opposite side of the road. Suzi hadn't seen these in the dark before, the car continued on, oblivious to her situation. It was raining hard again, and Suzi gathered her skirt in a Tesco carrier bag that she had found as she tumbled into the back seat. She eased herself out of the car, having first slipped the plastic jacket back on again. This time the feeling was not gross, the material sliding over her bare arms felt comforting and she had some hope as she zipped the garment all the way up, pausing when she got to the top before pulling the hood up. Her plan was to find a house at the end of the drive that she felt sure she would discover behind those big imposing gates. She would be welcomed with open arms by a handsome viscount who wined and dined her the later... she snapped out of her thoughts! Carrying the skirt in the bag to keep it dry she planned to put it on only when she was sure rescue was close, and that it being soaked would no longer be a problem. She tied the handles of the carrier extra tight, then set off along the road to where she had seen the gates. The moonlight was much less because of the cloud cover from the heavy rain, Suzi struggled to find her footing, she saw the gates across the road, but as she turned she slipped. Her hands flew up to grab at anything to arrest her fall, and she managed to grab a branch, but the Tesco bag flew from her hand and disappeared into the blackness. Suzi turned around and gingerly moved closer to the woods next to the roadside. The noise of the rain on the transparent hood was almost deafening. She suddenly realised that she was looking at tree tops above a shear drop, and what seemed like a million miles below she could just make out the carrier bag. Impossibly out of reach.
The wind caught her hood and she felt it move as if it was about to flip back and expose her to the pelting rain. She pulled the cords and tightened the hood so that it would not move. The vinyl material encased her head as she turned and trudged towards the gates, instinctively looking left and right, despite no chance of traffic, she squeezed through the great gates. Suzi was sure her legs must be blue with cold and the black thong offered no protection whatsoever against the elements. A long road lay ahead, picked out in the dim light because of its light colour. At the end she felt she sure would find the mansion and viscount to save her. She pulled the draw string extra tight, for no reason other than to feel safe in the plastic garment, as she set off towards what she hoped was safety.

Re: Broken Down - part 2
Getting interesting, I like the way that Suzi is gradually coming to terms with the way that a plastic jacket can comfort the wearer.
