Rukka?

Post by Deleted User 5375 »

I have seen several posts about Rukka SBR coats, and of course RukkaCrazy is a member, but when I search for Rukka all I find is motorcycle protective gear. Can someone explain, or post an example picture please?

It's interesting that, as a community, we use terms which must seem quite alien to outsiders - Stutterheim, Rukka, Jelly, AGU, SBR, PUL, etc., but sometimes I am not entirely sure if we all understand some of them. Maybe we could have a reference section with pictures and descriptions so that we are all thinking of the same thing when we see a reference; maybe the lovely Phee could model outfits for it (wink wink)!

I don't think they make the long raincoats anymore.

Rukka still manufactures rainwear & other leisurewear, but only in boring 'modern' fabrics.

They are chiefly famous for their classic full-length shiny (and matt) hooded macs manufactured from the late sixties through to the early eighties.

Howe I wish they would do a retro range of rainwear, but I doubt it'll ever happen.

I said correctly. You finally get to their web site and it is a waste of time to look.

Rukka is still making rainwear from plastic coated fabrics. Nowadays it is PU on polyester intead of PVC on cotton. Still rustling with a plastic feeling but only available in matte. Some of their fabrics are even slighty elastic. That's why we butcher some Rukka items once in a while to make "special garments" out of them.
