For me it was a friesennerz style mac from C@A. White rubber and blue cotton. It was reversible. It was my first rubber mac I wore out with my wife. Tried to find one for her but to no avail.

I got more day to day wear out of my black pvc belted Dannimac in the early 70's but I've had nothing to beat my belted and double breasted SBR from Weather or Not. The smoothness of the material was superb.

I have worn a number of PVC items of clothing since starting to sail when I was 15, as that was the only waterproof clothing available. I like trench coats and over the years have owned various black PVC trench coats made by variety companies which have been favourites at the time.
More recently I have regularly purchased from Weathervain and my latest trench coat, made in heavyweight black PVC, is one of the most comfortable I have ever purchased and is often admired.
My wife has worn PVC coats since the 60's and currently has black and red ones from Rainmac who are sadly no longer in business.

I can't remember any particular favourite item of rainwear whgen I was young, although I loved the smooth & quite shiny one piece rain overalls that my cousin didn't want & gave them to me to wear for fishing. Sadly they are no more, I loved them to death... lol
Anyway, anything shiny and yellow REALLY floats my boat - I absolutely adore my new FarmerRain raincoat and am ordering more items in the same fabric & colour.

My favorite of all time is a recent (less than a year ago) acquisition; a full length glossy blackwatch plaid coated cotton raincoat from ASOS. Smooth & shiny, solid construction, very comfortable fit, and makes wonderful rustling, crackling noises when I walk around it. Whenever I wear it I am inundated with compliments from strangers of all ages, mostly women.

I enjoy wearing my rubber Klepper coats. They are still very popular
in the German rainwear fetish comunity. And the still get high prices
on ebay auctions. Sometime I wear them all day long, indoors and outdoors.

Have always had it bad for semi clear pvc rainwear. Added up, it is the full length one or two piece clear rain suits that are the best. Particularly those used by kart racers and motocross folks. Added up, if used in cold weather, there is the swishing and crackling aspect of the rainwear that will send me over the top.
