Modern Waterproofs Anyone?

Frankly Goretex and other "modern" fabrics do absolutely nothing for me.

I will wear a pair of 'modern' rainpants for gardening but that's abt it.

Not for me. My wife often wears rubber-lined satin mackintoshes.

Mine is, one of a couple, of rubber-lined trench coats with cotton on the outside.

Waterproof and Windproof.

And it feels so good.

I like the modern, matte-finished, polyurethane coated, lined rainjackets that have become popular in the High Street recently. They feel nice to the touch and, importantly for me anyway, have taken this kind of rainwear into the mainstream again at a time when waxed jackets (ugh) appeared to have vanquished everything else. It's a pity that there aren't more of them in men's or unisex styles but I did manage to find one, at a cost, at Petit Bateau.
