hooded rain jackets
is it just me , or are the high street rain jacked designers / manufacturers trying to make their products look as if they are made from rubberised materials . Sometimes I'll see a woman wearing a rain jacket , particularly the yellow surface proofed type , where the fabric moves and flows in a way that really gets the juices flowing . But alas closer inspection shows it to be a type of pvc , not that there is anything wrong with pvc , its just that I hope to be seeing rubberised fabrics again

Its not just you... many manufacturers also refer to their material as "rubberized", even it contains no rubber.

I agree with the two openers about the lack of rubber.
I love rubber both on myself and on my wife and it frosts me when they say it is and it isn't.

You know SBR stands for Styrene-Butadiene Rubber right? (not for "sexy black rubber")luvcapes&macks wrote: ↑February 26th, 2020, 12:27 pm yes indeed , a similar situation with SBR , the caption says SBR but the photo shows a red mackintosh
So it can be in any color you like although it is most often black (as it is used for car tires and in rubberized asphalt).

Rubber is not very suited for regular clothing, so I can understand there is not much clothing with rubber available.blackmacjay wrote: ↑February 23rd, 2020, 6:40 pm I agree with the two openers about the lack of rubber.

But I agree that it makes little sense to call something "rubber" or "rubberized" while it does not contain any rubber.

going back to SBR , i think the common usage is Shiny Black Rubber , and thus not red or any other colour

It is funny: they should create items from RUBBER because it is from nature. Nylon is not natural yet we have thousands of items made from that material. I wish we did see more, real rubber clothing but the cost is very high.

1) most items from china say rubber yet when you have them in your hand, it is obviously NOT rubber. Be careful what you buy online.
2) the only way to get REAL RUBBER clothing is to buy from a fetish clothing web site. They will normally have every thing broke out into departments, one of them being rubber clothing. Expect to pay high dollars. I bought a full length, Victorian Maid Uniform completely in rubber. It is wonderful and needs special care. It costed me over $600 US but the uniform is real rubber.

I think "Shiny Black Rubber" is just a fun acronym made up by the fetish community.luvcapes&macks wrote: ↑February 27th, 2020, 11:53 am going back to SBR , i think the common usage is Shiny Black Rubber , and thus not red or any other colour
I would not classify that as "common usage".
