That’s not easy to answer! Depends on how you I’m feeling and the situation!
Mid weight yellow PVC trousers (first pair I had) were amazing. Waterproof coverall gave me my first ‘no hands’
Layered up nylon /pvc waterproof trousers are great but I guess current favourite would be wellies and my professional heavy weight Ocean oilskin bib’n’brace and smock
Not too many years before they finally wound up, I availed myself of an special offer by MacMac and had an ankle length double studded red chlorinated rubber inside and out dream coat made, including hood. I reckon that was 1992. I called her Miranda and she never let me down, my absolute favourite of all time. Last summer, during the hot spells, I thought the end had come and the ultra smooth red rubber was becoming tacky. But I read up about chlorination and despite some experts saying that deteriorating rubber can’t be rejuvenated by chlorination, I gave it a whirl. Miranda repaid my faith in her and she emerged from the 20 minutes in the chlorine bath as utterly smooth and beautiful and non tacky as the day I first put her on. She’ll be 28 in May and I have promised her I will never throw her out, now I know how to turn her clock back, if not mine.
A long black shiny Rukka mackintosh, it was my first purchase back in around 1980. I don't know what happened to it, but have many fond memories of it.
