Yellow Hunter Wellies

Post by dawson131uk »

Hi all,

For those wondering, or contemplating, wearing Hunters that are outside your typical green, black and blue spectrum, I want to advocate the sheer joy of not giving a damm if you want to go bold and wear a colour a little less traditional.

Today I did just over 14km in Gloucestershire in a pair of bright yellow Hunters along the River Wye and not a single soul battered an eyelid, not even at the coffee shops that I popped into for a nifty caffeine fix.

Whilst my rainwear collection is still limited (but growing!), I have quite a few different coloured Hunters that always look great with a rain jacket and living in the countryside, there is always a good reason to get out in public wearing them.

So, in case you're still undecided as to whether it is right to wear something a little different to everyone else, I say go for it and enjoy the freedom!

Aren't the yellow Hunters only available in "women sizes" ( = smaller sizes) ?

Hi Bobby,

Once upon a time Hunter made them up to a size UK12! They did a whole range of colours in men's sizes, including:

Red
Pink
Purple
Pumpkin orange
Powder Blue
White
Merlot
Light Grey
Yellow
Burgundy
Pea green
Seagrass green
Colbolt blue
Gold
Silver
Bronze

Men's colors are currently limited to 4 relatively boring ones, and women's boots are available in more bright colors but only upto size UK9. It sounds a bit "old fashioned": i know many women in The Netherlands (where people are relatively tall) wont fit in a UK size 9 boot.

Too bad; since its all simply machine made they should have every color in every size available on their website, but instead they only think about limited editions in the hope people jump the ship and quickly buy another pair.

Money money money instead of making high quality products and trying to stay in business for another 100 years by churning out products now and pulling all cash out before they are bankrupt (sometimes its good that a company never gets "popular" and instead just continuous to produce good products and keep a long-term focus - no huge investments for new products and moving production to China to be able to repay all their new debts).

You can get the short boots in larger sizes in yellow and red. And the “Play” range has a bright red-orange and light gray, as well as the “exploded” Hunter logo design (I just got a pair of those today and they are amazing.

About as good as you can get for Hunters since they moved production to China. But they look good & feel comfortable on my feet so that’s a positive in my book!

I went for a walk at my local RSPB reserve a few weeks ago in my yellow Hunters. Was lots of fun!
