London raincoat report!
Re: London raincoat report!
the prices seem quite outrageous seeing as topshop are hardly at the top end of the marketplace, the quality is hardly any better than primark who did only charge 12 of those GBP for their plastic jackets last year. Did anyone ever see anybody wearing one out by the way?
Re: London raincoat report!
Apart from the price I like the look of the £45 Top Shop PVC jackets. It does say they are in sizes up to 16 and the length looks like it would be above the knee.
Wonder if they'll do one in black later in the year - I could wear that to go out, although the bluw wouldn't look too outrageous. Shame they don't produce a male version
The only person I've seen wearing last years Primark plastic jackets was in the mirror unfortunately

Re: London raincoat report!
Ive seen a few of the Primark macs around

Re: London raincoat report!
went into the Top Shop in Leamington Spa today - didn't have any of the blue/yellow pvc coats or the red plastic capes - I was really disappointed!
Re: London raincoat report!
Top Shop might not be at the top of the market, but most ladies shops charge that sort of money for any sort of coat/raincoat. New Look, River Island, Next, even H&M are charging those sort of amounts, it's just that none of those shops have any plastic or pvc rainwear at the moment.
Primark is really the exception to the rule on cost, which is probably why it does so well.
Regarding the plastic macs, i've seen lots of the solid colour, ditsy flower and even an odd leopard print one. The see through ones i've seen at the odd outdoor event and at a theme park. I'm hoping to see a few more once the weather warms up a bit and the April showers set in.

Well in the Fair City I spotted a lady in her 30s out walking wearing pair of yellow wellies and a shiny yellow reversible raincoat.
It was 14 degrees in the car, probably a few less outdoors, but she seemed oblivious to the heat, sun and fine weather as she strolled along the road.

Re: London raincoat report!
Last week I bought, from a large 'workwear' shop in Birmingham a dullish black, very smooth surfaced rain jacket. It has a lovely feel, is really well made and only cost £14. The label says its a 'Fortress 220/NV' and is 100% polyester fabric with 100% PU coating and has a 'Fortex' label as well. As yet, we haven't had a good downpour so haven't managed to have an enjoyable walk in the rain with coat, overtrousers and wellies although I have worn it out without unfavourable looks. I've tried to find it, without success, on the internet so if anybody can tell me how to load a picture on here, then I will do so

I need to go Top Shop now for a "touch" of these capes!I did this quite often with the primark macs when they were in stock. Never seen anyone wearing them but at one stage there were no blue ones on the rail so they must have been selling. I love the pictures of the "primark girl"! The quality may not be great, but its still pvc!
