Just a heads up for anyone in the UK planning to buy rainwear from the EU. I recently bought some rainwear from Farmerrain which came to approximately £145. A couple of days ago I was emailed by the carrier saying there were £44 import and admin fees to be paid.
I've paid up, but that'll be the last farmerrain for me, I think.
Assume this is a consequence of Brexit.
Stay well
Matt

Re: Import costs
Ah yes. Import duty. VAT, and any other charges HM Customs adds on. I live in hope the the UK Government can set a website to confirm costs before we order from abroad. However HMRC will now be making so much cash in the short term. I doubt any immediate action from our current government.
I also have to point out the EU has the same problem with our exports. I hope an answer can be implemented to help the smooth flow of goods.
I wonder if this affects Weathervain and its supply of SBR material?
Lets live in hope.

Re: Import costs
I've got two pairs of (leather) boots coming from Fernando Berlin and they have refunded the EEC VAT, but say that in due course I should expect a bill from DHL for the UK VAT. Needless to say DHL aren't doing this for nothing and according to their website will charge 2 1/2% of the VAT with a minimum of £11.00.

Worth bearing in mind if buying from abroad - could be a nasty shock if you get charged £11.00 for someting only costing a few quid!
