Often people talk to me first, and sometimes i start it. It is easy enough to recognise when people want to be left alone. Personally I think people are becoming more insular and cut-off, and I think it is a shame.

Today has been overcast at times, but often quite sunny, which made it especially nice to see a lady in a dark blue Agu-type Mac, and a girl in, what I can only describe as a PVC shirt, or blouse, or it might have been a dress, but it was certainly strange! I didn’t talk to either of the wearers because the situation was not right, but had it been, I would have struck up a conversation.

What would have been the right situation to strike up a conversation with these people who’d only attracted your attention because of what they are wearing?

To be honest I’ve always found it a little creepy that people want to strike up conversations with strangers based on what they are wearing

From conversations I’ve had and what I’ve read some people, particularly females, are afraid to go out alone especially at night, so there’s little wonder people are becoming more insular

I prefer to leave people alone rather than add to their fears
