Unpacking
Unpacking
Who gets a thrill out of waiting for a delivery? It never ceases to amaze me how small and perfectly folded PUL deliveries are, and the excitement of seeing that tiny pack transform into a large plastic raincoat is wonderful, especially the initial plastic smell and the fold lines that say it is brand new and just itching to be slipped on! Sometimes I can’t try on an item immediately, so the wait to find some private time is both exciting and excruciating at the same time.

I have to admit that I also get a thrill out of waiting for the next rainwear delivery! I have had to source many pieces of my collection from Europe so the wait time for me is anywhere between 2-3 weeks. An even better thrill is the hunt for rain gear. One of my recent completed hunts was for some older Grundens gear - specifically the Nordan series. It first started by getting the older style of the bib pants in orange. Months later the hooded jacket appeared by chance on eBay and then I was able to locate the jacket without a hood (thanks to the folks at farmerrain for serving as a delivery intermediary for Grundens Europe!). At that point I thought I was finished, by sheer chance I spelled Grundens as Grudens (missing “r”) and found the nordan coat. After a few months later and $125 spent I have a great set of Grundens rain gear to enjoy.
Right now I’m trying to track down a bright orange Aalesund rainsuit. The main issue is that shipping is EU only so it’s a matter of finding the right website that will ship to the USA.
