Malaysian Rubber

Post by Whitsun »

I have been a rubber mackintosh lover since I was 4, its the thin rubber lining that does it for me and nothing else, up to now, came anywhere near. But recently I was able to run my hand inside a Malaysian rubber gown, wow, so smooth and sexy. I looked at several colours but was then offered a black hooded Cape and I was hooked. I have always loved capes anyway and this was just to much to resist.
I love it and wear it in private a lot, but I haven't been able to find anything about how it's made either the material or garments. Does anybody know anything about it? , it's like latex except that it's matt smooth on both sides.

It wasn't too long ago, these garments were quite plentiful, but alas not so now. However Hamilton Classics do still sell some of these beautiful clothes.

They are every thing a rubber lover desires, in smell, texture and variety of designs. The only flaw is the fragility of them. Being just one single sheet of rubber, they don't have the strength of latex. I did, in the end, become quite adept at repairing my ripped, torn garments.

Malaysian rubber sheet and garments were once sold by South Bucks Rainwear when it was both in Buckinghamshire and more latterly Devon. More recently Weather Vain sold garments and sheet of the same manufacture but I understood that the company that made the rubber had either ceased production or gone bankrupt. I have not seen any on sale for years now, well you can imagine, how long ago is it since Weather Vain were in Kew ? That's got to be a fair few years ago.
It is interesting to note that Hamilton Classics are now doing clothing in that self same material, or is it just old stock, I wonder.

I bought my black Cape from Hamiltons, they are delicate, but easily repaired if you can find some material. And so so worth it
