Scam porn emails

Post by annabell-cagoule »

Hey folks

Had an email today from a porn scammer, the type of email that threatens you to pay them or they will share where you have been and what your sexual interests are.

Of course I deleted it without opening it immediately, but what i did see on the email as my phone shows part of it before i open it was the password i use for this site only.

Might be worth changing your passwords folks.

The thing with these scams is to delete without opening as it send an alert to the scammer that the email address is active and message has been read and they then sell that, pass it on and you get bombarded. They don’t have anything on you or access to your camera, site history etc just somewhere along the lines they hacked a site and got your passwords.

Hope that helps and beware!

Thanks for the warning Annabell.

Also folks, don’t forget to change your password on other sites if you have used the same one for Rainwear Central. This site is still available in unencrypted form, so make sure you are using https:// on the front of the web address and that you see the padlock to say it is secure. Especially if you use a bookmark which you might have created a long time ago before the site had a secure link.

Hi.
this morning I realized that Rainwearcentral seems to be secure.
My browser shows me https://rainwearcentral.com
What do you experience ?
I know that the Site was unsecured in the past.

There are many possibilities for scamers to get your e-mail adress. Lists with account names and passwords could be bought on the darknet.

I am using a password manager (keepass) that generates my passwords (random signs, very long). Downside, i cannot remember any of my passwords.
