To hope too much

Post by Deleted User 5375 »

David walked in through the hallway. The lady was attractive, middle aged, with dark hair.
“Please go through and take a seat”, she offered, pointing into the living room, “would you like tea?”
He smiled, “thanks, white without sugar if that is ok?”
He perched on the edge of the black leather sofa and placed his laptop on the glass coffee table. As he opened the lid his eyes were drawn to the coat rack in the hallway. There it was, no doubt, the sleeve and side of a black plastic mac nestled under a few heavy coats. He was immediately interested.
He turned to the laptop and pressed the on button as he heard the clink of china as the lady entered the room. She sat opposite him, smiled, and offered him the bone china cup of tea, “would you like a biscuit?”, she leaned forward pushing a plate towards him. His heart skipped a beat as he caught sight of her cleavage under the loose blouse.
He introduced his company and explained about her policy options. She smiled, and for a moment he found himself lost in her beautiful blue eyes.
“More tea?”, she offered, leaning further forward to pickup the teapot. In that moment he spotted what he was sure was the edge of a shiny black PVC bra. The image was brief, he might be mistaken, it was probably satin, but still, wouldn’t it be wonderful if it wasn’t?

“Any questions?”, he asked, as he closed the lid of his computer, “I mean, is there anything else I can help with?”
“Yes”, she replied in a soft voice,”you seem nervous and distracted, and you keep glancing out of the door, is everything ok?”
“Oh yes, I um, could I use your bathroom?”
She smiled and uttered the words that made him feel like a naughty school boy, “of course dear, at top of the stairs”.
He excused himself, but as he was about to climb the stairs he deliberately ran his hand carelessly through the coats, delighting in the feel of the smooth vinyl.
At the top of the stairs he looked for the bathroom. The open door to his right was a bedroom. It was ordinary, with the usual drawers, wardrobe and bed with a floral bed spread. He found what he was looking for through a door on the left and went in. He was immediately drawn to the clear plastic shower curtain which seemed out of place in an otherwise high-end opulent bathroom. He ran his hand through its soft shiny folds.
After using the facilities he turned to leave, but spotted a clear pink plastic shower cap hanging on the back of the bathroom door. He wasn’t used to seeing so much casual vinyl in a house - just there, functional, inert, but ever so enticing.
He left to go back down the stairs, but out of the corner of his eye he spotted something in the full length mirror in the bedroom, something that could only be seen from this angle. It seemed to be a very shiny dressing gown, or possibly another raincoat, hanging on the other side of the door. His pulse was racing now and he was about to investigate when the lady appeared at the bottom of the stairs, “thank you for your time, it has been very informative, but if you don’t mind I’d like to have a think about it, is that ok?”
“Of course”, he replied, “just call me when you are ready”, he felt crest-fallen, sensing that their encounter was coming to an end.

At the bottom of the stairs she handed him his laptop, already packed and ready to go. He thanked her as she handed it to him whilst opening the front door for him with the other hand.
“Oh my”, she exclaimed, “it’s raining quite hard”.
“That’s fine”, David replied, my car isn’t too far away”.
“Here”, she said, “take this”, and she pulled the plastic raincoat from behind the other coats, “it’s spare, and it’ll keep you dry”.
He smiled, “no, I couldn’t”, hoping she would insist, which thankfully she did.
Like a little schoolboy being dressed by his mother, David accepted the raincoat being put on him.

In the car he sat with the mac still in place. Droplets of water ran down its smooth, shiny surface. His mind was filled with questions about what might be happening in the house now he had left. The raincoat was clearly unloved as it was tucked under so many other garments, and she had said it was spare. The shower curtain was just functional. as was a shower cap. But then the shiny garment on the back of the bedroom door, what was that all about? The glimpse of the shiny bra?

He knew he needed to know more, to know if this lady could be the answer to his dream of someone to share his desire to be dressed in plastic rainwear. But for now he had to be content, lying in bed, wearing the plastic raincoat against his bare skin, and dreaming of the woman that wore it in the past.

Very good story, I like the way you use suggestion rather than graphic detail.

Lovely start. The inference of being dressed forcibly in the mac at the end was fantastic
