Out walking the dog this morning and a woman appeared in front of me, pushing a pushchair with a baby and a toddler walking next to her. It was a very bright day, still very slightly cool, but clearly going to be a very hot day. And she was wearing tight PVC leggings. She was slow, and the dog was desperate to get by, but I hung back, very naughty of me, but that shiny bottom was just gorgeous. Later on I saw her in the play park with her kids, and by then it was fairly warm. I supposed she might have misjudged the weather, but why else might she decide that shiny leggings were appropriate for a trip to the park?

Pretty sure it’s just a style thing these days

I suppose it is the same thing that drives women to wear stilettos - nobody could ever say they are comfortable! Maybe the woman was on the lookout for a partner (she was alone) and therefore wanted to dress up in case Mr/Miss right was at the park? Most men will take confort first, although I prefer to be uncomfortable in plastic plastic rainwear, because there is a comfort in the hot/dampness for me.

A few weeks ago I saw a younger woman as part of group who were walking their dogs in pvc leegiings. This was in bright sunny wether, so she too was weraring them "for no good reaseion".
Other than that you sometimes see ladies in vinyl or pleather trousers when its rainy as their "dogproof" trousers.

Well, fashion is about style, especially when it's a feintly fetish style and, frankly, comfort of takes a back-seat in such matters! The look is everything.

I like the idea of ‘feintly fetish’ as that implies that someone gets the impact that their choice is having on onlookers, not just style but a little bit kinky.Debbie Maclover wrote: ↑April 4th, 2022, 4:19 pm Well, fashion is about style, especially when it's a feintly fetish style and, frankly, comfort of takes a back-seat in such matters! That’s fashion for you! I am always puzzled during the winter when I see women wearing crop top puffer jackets. Wearing a winter jacket that covers halfway down to your stomach just doesn’t compute with me. Similarly, gals wearing rain boots on a rainy day but don’t have a raincoat or umbrella! Sometimes reality can be stranger than fiction.
