kenn sporn/slippery when wet reversibles vs. other shiny reversible raincoats

what makes the kenn sporn/slippery when wet reversible raincoats more popular compared to other shiny reversibles? is it because of the unique large hoods that they have making it easier to wear? also is there a difference between a normal kenn sporn and a slippery when wet or is it just the marketing?

I could be wrong, but I believe the slippery when wet was the shinier version. I troll eBay for those, but have not seen any in quite awhile.

My judgement and categorization of the reversible is as follows:
Outer Inner
Shiny Shiny
Shiny Matte
Matte Matte
Shiny Canvas
Matte Canvas

The most popular color combo is green/blue with and without prints

I personally want to find the shiny/ shiny for my wife.

I have seen all those combinations back in the 80s on younger women. Especially around college campuses. Those were the days!

I need to find an XL for the Misses. Almost all I have seen are Medium or Small

i have some slippery when wets that have a more matte lining and kenn sporns that are more crinkly.

I have quite a few Totes raincoats that are unlined and rather shiny.

Wippette/Slippery When Wet makes up a large chunk of our collection. Probably have over a hundred of just those in almost all of the styles they made. Overall it’s pretty fantastic stuff-tho there were a few years where they went from stitched to welded seams. The only other brand we’ve found to be close to the quality of construction is Items International. Tho we also have a large amount of unbranded plastic rainwear that seems like it might have been manufactured in the same place or at least with the same materials.
