Strange phenomenon

Out and about today it has been very sunny, so was surprised to see a few nice raincoats, my favourite being a duck egg blue rubbery PVC jacket on a young woman. But also three sightings of shiny leggings, two of which were on ladies who looked like they were in their 80’s. Now I am no spring chicken, but it seemed weird to see tight shiny PVC on these otherwise older attired women. If the whole outfit was young and risqué then you could understand it, but it was literally just the leggings that were a bit out-there, teamed with a long granny coat and jumper/blouse.
