Having owned two shops that sold rainwear from cheap regatta Storm breaks to high end gore-tex fabrics and everything in between, I agree with rainwear-experience. Most folks just want to be warm and dry and dont have our fetish in mind.

Gore tex is actually a fantastic product and works incredibly well at keeping you dry, warm ( and is once you take the face and backing off is actually a bit rubbery) if you want a fabric that performs when you needed it. Ok it might not appeal to our fetish but if it’s a raincoat for keeping you dry inside and out when walking or working hard then you cant beat it.

But back to our favourites of pu or pvc backed nylon, plastic or pvc, i was surprised how many folks bought nylon cagoules from our ‘pre-loved’ outdoor gear section when i stocked it with either some of my own vintage rainwear collection to thin it out or when we bought bulk vintage rainwear to stock that section.

We had a few customers who often bought two or three at a time for ‘walking the dog’ in. I never let on my passion for rainwear to them as upmost professional but there was the odd person who i often chatted to about cagoules for extended periods who i am sure was cagoule fetishist like myself. I did once mention to them, ‘have you come across rainwear central at all? I think they sell them on there too’ but they hadn’t. I wonder if they are now members on here.
Lets get swishy!
