'Acorn Antiques' (British parodic soap opera from 1987). Maggie Steed wears a long shiny black PVC mac and a glassclear plastic rain bonnet. Enjoy!
Timing: 54'-16" to 55'-33".

What a gem! RB I've never heard of this series so glad it was you who has found it the mac she's wearing is super clean and shiny
Cheers Beth - glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, the mac that Maggie Steed is wearing is just magnificent - love the cuffs on it and it looks like it's made of quite thick PVC - a real quality mac!
Julie Walters and Victoria Wood taking time out from filming. Maggie Steed is to the right of them (back to the camera) and she's got the mac on! https://postimg.cc/xkTKD2Dp

You won't have heard of the series Beth because 'Acorn Antiques' was a regular feature in the two series of 'Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV'. Each sketch lasted about 4 or 5 minutes within the shows themselves. The two series of the show ran from 1985 to 1987.
About 20 seconds into the scene you see a fair-haired lady in the background reading a script, sharing an umbrella with a tall man in a red jacket. I can't tell for sure because she's never in clear focus, but is she also wearing a plastic rain bonnet?

Just had a look - yeah, I see what you mean. It looks like a white semi-transparent chiffon headscarf to me.
