Being winter if you just wore the raincoat people probably wouldn’t bat an eyelid.

I don't see what the issue is.

Wearing PVC (Polyvinylchloride; Vinyl) rainwear in public will hardly attract negative attention. Especially when it is raining, drizzly, overcast and windy.

Personally, I wear shiny PVC and glass clear PVC raincoats and jelly jackets in public. In various colours, except for pink (I don't want others thinking I am a bit of a 'poofter' as they say in parts of England). Although, I do have a single very shiny pink PVC raincoat, but it looks a lot better on my girlfriend who likes wearing it both outdoors and in the bedroom!

I also wear shiny PU puffer/bubble jackets and puffer coats in public. The shiniest ones tend to be marketed at women, but many of the highly shiny ones can pass as unisex. Especially shiny black PU. My girlfriend has a few.

We do too. Puffers are a bit warm for this time of year, roll on September!!! We wear lighter weight pu and vinyl unbacked shiny vinyl hooded anoraks this time of year. Totally acceptable shower and rain wear. Not so readily available now, but we stocked up a few years ago when they were everywhere. Hopefully shiny vinyl will make a return soon.

I have never had any issue wearing PVC macs, rainsuits, head to toe with wellies in the rain and no one takes any notice i recently wore my yellow shiny rainsuit with nothing underneath and topped with a shiny yellow ankle length mac to the supermarket when it was raining and didnt get a glare or comment.

Been getting a little more confident of late, when it comes to wearing my nylon mackintosh in public. Had a couple of drinks in a well known down market pub chain, read a book, and kept my mackintosh on. Sadly no one noticed me.

I think it's because we fetish mac wearing people know we have this fetish and inside we think others are knowing this and that's why we are a tad shy of going outside wearing what we love to the most.
But just do it in the rain to protect yourself against the weather and enjoy yourself.

Heavy rain here today, already been into town wearing my Thor Semi Transparent Pit Mac with the hood up when I'm the open.
As expected no comments.
Looked at those wearing short rain jackets with wet trouser /jeans legs and thought "who is the sensible one"
Broad minded enough to acknowledge we all enjoy different things:)

I found, the secret to walking around in public in a shiny PVC mac, is to convince yourself that you just don't care...
And most importantly, do not keep checking to see if people are looking at you.
Just strut around town with confidence and get on with enjoying yourself.
Just accept and get use to the idea that people may look at you but do not assume it's for negative reasons. You can frequently get some really lovely, positive compliments from onlookers.
They're just interested and sometimes want to chat or ask you you where you bought it. Nothing wrong with that.
After 50 years of going out and about in PVC macs, it just seems natural now. Just get out there and enjoy your favourite macs because the chances are, other people are enjoying looking at them.
They brighten up the streets and people often find them cool, fun and stylish. And possibly wish they had one too...

I frequently wear macs out of a usual female variety, but a variety of styles.
Occasionally get compliments too …to most people it’s a functional coat, be it with a tinge of fashion.

Dear all. Who cares what people think. It’s pouring down in Surrey and I fancy some fresh air. I’ve just put my super shiny black pvc Benetton mackintosh on that I brought in the selfridges sale a couple of years ago (£150 down to £75, thus I brought the red one too!!) and just added my flat thigh high black pvc boots (my green wellies just don’t go with the Mac) along with my black pvc bucket hat and my black pvc gloves in my pocket too as I just love being fully pvc’d up!! Do I care??? No it’s pouring down and I’ll keep dry. Have to admit, dressed up like I’m feeling rather horny. Would make my day if I bumped into someone like you Sarah pvc or one of you other members on here to have a chat, walk together and maybe some mackintosh fun together….
