I'm always in charity shops looking for vintage cagoules but unfortunately had no luck lately.

Seems like Pakamac style raincoats never turn up in the charity shops anymore. A few years ago I used to find then all the time.
Same with Cagoules, not many around these days.
I haven't sighted anyone in a Nylon raincoat or PVC for years now. (I am talking the long Pakamac style). Australia has become devoid of them I think.
In the 70's I think every businessman carried one in his briefcase and now nothing ):

I think alot get ‘sorted’ nowadays where charity shops send things they think they can’t sell to either vintage wholesalers or to recycling thinking no one buys those anymore. Smaller charity shops still stock them.
Lets get swishy!

I had just left the dentist this afternoon (8th Nov) when heavy rain was falling and as I was hurrying to my car I actually sighted across the road from me a long plastic mac being worn by an elderly woman. Now that's something I haven't seen in Melbourne for quite a while!

A total lack of sightings down this end of the Uk as well....I would have thought all this heavy rain would have brought one or two shiny macs out of the wardrobes !! :P

I think the last time I saw that in Sydney was pre COVID. Such a shame and good on you for spotting someone in a MAC
