Have this week on my own in our cottage, just me and our dog. Just couldn’t help myself, I just had to take a shower in my thin nylon rainwear. So nice to feel the water tickle my body and feel the old rainwear slowly getting soaked. And this brings many memories back, once again my girlfriend at the time and her blue and shiny nylon rainwear.
She and her rainwear got soaked many times. Sometimes from water spraying over the boat when sailing and sometimes from rain. And there is two special occasions I really like to remember. The first is when she jumped to a slippery rock and slowly slipped into the water, she slided down the rock standing up and didn’t stop until the water was 1,5 m deep. She was not happy and screamed all the time, it was quite cold. Didn’t help so much that I laughed, but I did warm her after we got our boat safely moored.
The second memorie is from preparing our boat for the summer. A day with light rain and we where cleaning the hull with long brushes and soap water. We both got compleatly soaked in our nylon rainwear. Loved to see her work in her wet, shiny blue nylon rainwear. When you are cleaning the hull of the boat, you are really using your whole body. Brushing from waterline to the deck is a real hard work, it’ from hip hight to arms fully stretched up. Have lovely pictures from that occasion to help my memory.
