Greedy e-bay twinkies...
Greedy e-bay twinkies...
The optimism and greed of some sellers knows no bounds ... One seller is advertising a certain (pink) vinyl raincoat for $55.00, while another has exactly the same item for $15.00 ... Guess which one I will buy?
Re: Greedy e-bay twinkies...
Tell me about it. Here's one that boggles my mind:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-MARLBORO-BR ... 33702150d4
This one has been up for almost 2 years now, never gets any bids, and the seller keeps relisting it. It's a full length yellow pvc slicker reversible to brown canvas, part of the Marlboro Adventure Gear line from years ago, where you earned "Marlboro Cash" for buying cigarettes & you could redeem it for premiums from a catalog; one of the premiums was this raincoat.
This seller keeps listing it at $199 USD, despite the fact that it has flaws like a small tear on the hem and a cuff snap that won't snap. Meanwhile, there always seem to be at least one or two others selling the exact same coat at any given time, so it's not that scarce. I paid $35 for one two years ago, and that's the highest I've ever seen one of these coats listed at... no wait, that's not true, the guy I bought it from came down in price a couple of times, first from $55, then $45, and finally $35, when I pounced on it.

you always wonder at the stupidity of some people, also the way they use certain keywords to try and mislead people. There was recently a rather ordinary dickies raincoat listed at around 30 dollars and the seller was describing ot as rukka as well as dickies. Sorry, slight difference, which I have to admit I mischievously pointed out to ebay. I see the same coat has now been relisted as just dickies and I wish them luck at getting the price they want. Perhaps someone is stupid enough and good luck to them

Hi Mason, I got one of those pink $15 one's for my wife in size M, but it's to small. I just ordered another one in size L. If your interested in the size M, I'll send it to you free as it will just sit in the closet unused. Bye the way, the outside if a fantastic smooth gloss finish and the inside is a matt finish, the pvc is nice and soft. Let me know.

But to be honest who cares, an item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for itPVC Raincoat wrote:Here's another one that is unbelivable:

If youve got the money and are wiling to pay the price then fine
If the seller thinks they can get the asking price fine, if they cant then they're going to make eBay a lot richer with numerous listing fees

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-WATPR ... 1319wt_952 god knows what planet this lot are on, you can buy these as a suit still for under ten pounds so why a shabby jacket would fetch twice that is beyond me. Will be interesting to see if it sells though
