I always wear one of my very shiny black PVC Macs when I go out, unless the sun is out or if it's too warm.
During the autumn/winter, or cloudy weather, I also wear my shiny black PVC bucket had to keep warm and cosy.

I've had some really lovely comments from various people, all ages, male and female.
They love to stop and chat which makes me feel great.
People say it's a really nice matching outfit and ask all about it, or ask if I have other macs.
They often make suggestions for other colours and styles, which might suit me.

It is, absolutely thrilling every time I go out dressed like this, especially when you see someone give you a big warm smile, particularly if they're female, accompanied by a lovely compliment.

It seems to me that people really do love to see Shiny Macs ! But of course... They're bright, shiny, attractive and eye catching.
They're fun !
And as we know, a whole lot more...

One thing I hear a lot, is how the sight of a shiny PVC Mac cheers people up during the Covid pandemic...
Plus, you feel protected with mac, hat and mask !

Have a great day ! Stay healthy.

this really requires a 2 part answer , if we're talking about wearing a mac indoors then the weather is of no consequence to me , indoors i wear rubber lined , latex or pvc whenever i like . However for me , outdoors it needs to be raining or looking as if it is going to rain before i would go out in my rubber - lined or pvc macs .

I am like Macklovin in that I wear black PVC macs whenever the opportunity arises.

Today I did some shopping this morning dressed in my black PVC trenchcoat it was admired by a lady cashier in my local garden centre. If it is still raining this afternoon when I go to a chemist to collect my prescription I will be wearing my 3/4 length black pvc mac.

I went to church last Sunday wearing this lovely PVC mac.

It was as dry as a bone. I had several compliments as to how "groovy" my PVC was. I am just stuck on the 70's I guess.

Same. I try not to "poke the bull in the eye" causing unneeded attention yet I am a very stylish dresser so it could be a sunny, cold day I could still wear a full length mac to go out to diner in.

It is a thrill when people stop to ask you about the mac! I love to talk to people about what I wear. It strikes me that many people want to be stylish but for what ever reason (peer pressure to conform to bland, not owning anything PVC, or just not planning what to wear) they miss the chance.

Morning All,

Having several shiny PVC macs, from Rainmac (Formally being in Midhurst) in various colours, i have worm them many times whilst out and about.
Yes, it does help if it is raining or signs of doing so, but generally i find there is more of an acceptance and people generally too busy to pass ill judgement.
Of course, whilst in male mode i can generally get away with wearing either the black or dark blue shiny macs, and actually nowadays find that me wearing these draw less attention then if i was wearing a GO semi-transparent Grey plastic mac, which i also do so, but do notice people do tend to look at me more.
With my other coloured PVC Macs, Grey, Cream, Bronze and particularly bright Red, these again are 'acceptable' as long as i am in femme mode, and actually draw many positive comments from females, who will ask generally where did i purchase the mac from. Some are surprised that i am male, answering them gives that away, but nearly all will continue in conversation without showing any concern.
In fact, i have had a few even try on one of my shiny macs, and if not they have run a hand along my arm to feel the material.

These are of course, my own personal observations and situations, and i guess it comes with confidence that i can wear my shiny macs out in public. Yes there has been the odd adverse comment, one or two rude even, but generally the majority of people seem to not bother in the instance that they see me.

I have so far limited myself to my PVC raincoat on wet days. But, dear friends, you have emboldened me!

For me it is for days when it is wet or at least a good chance of rain. By keeping it for rainy days there is an element of making it something to look forward to. It's bit like keeping your favourite food for a special occasion.
