Hi Mason, The EU have what is called the REACH document.... which could be even more prohibitive! regards Gaz
Hi Gary, thank you so much for your great explanation. I really appreciate it. I totally understand your position, although that does not mean I agree with this bullshit as determined by the wankers in the EU bureaucracy.

Please don’t take it personally you haven’t done anything wrong
I’m sure the PM will be very sympathetic to the problems you face and will give it his full attention which in real terms is 1% of the attention span of a 4-year-old
It may take him a while to respond as he’s currently hard at work trying to find someone to take the blame for the thousands of deaths his dithering has caused

"I personally would be happy to wear a raincoat that is soft and rubbery and made from DOP, I'm nearly 60 now and I've got to die of something!" Lol, that made me laugh!
Simply living in an oxygen-enriched atmosphere brings us closer to death with each passing day, as cell-damaging reactive oxygen species (free radicals) are produced by our bodies as we 'burn' glucose for energy.
The EU bureaucrats are loathsome. They seem to have penchant of banning everything that gives us a bit of pleasure and reduces stress.
Scientific studies that apparently show a link between a substance and increased incidence of a disease (be it cancer or whatever) do not always directly translate to a significant health hazard in everyday life for us humans. For example, peanut butter, which naturally can contain traces of aflatoxin (a carcinogen) would be responsible for many deaths per year if the scientific studies, which involves exposing poor little rodents to purified aflatoxin in a controlled lab setting, translated directly to everyday living of us humans. Even the humble lettuce could be shown to cause cancer!
Put it this way, to be unequivocally safe and free from danger we'd need to living in hermetically sealed plastic (preferably made by PUL with their finest plasticiser-rich glass clear PVC!) bubble fed with purified mountain air, and every last trace of potential toxin or carcinogen in our food would need to be removed. Oh, and while you are inside that bubble, don't forget to slather on the high factor sunblock- even our life-giving sun can, paradoxically, bring us closer to the grave!
By the way, how does the performance of DINP plasticiser compare to the banned ones? Does it impart the same degree of softness and suppleness in PVC rainwear?
