That is a the real Houdini Moment!
I had been at the height of layering when I heard the front door go. The panic was so great that I almost forgot how buttons and zips worked! I managed to come downstairs in a composed manner with a casual "hello love", hoping to God that she didn't want to go up, and discover the heap of sticky rainwear strewn about the bedroom. Funny thing was that I never usually wore more than one layer, it just had to be on that one ocassion! Later on a popped up and tidied away as quietly as I could. I always wonder d if she ever suspected, but she never let on.
