Of course it has nothing to do with genetics. Perhaps you are being overly literal. It is exposure to these garments at an early age and ones condition at the time, that has caused the fetish. I have no idea what the trigger was for me, only that I have been drawn to women in mackintoshes, and latterly men, from an early age. It is not something I chose, nor was I introduced to it, like some women have. But I can assure you that this is a male specific fetish.

What absolute twaddle, maybe fewer females share the fetish for rainwear but it's plain daft to say it's a male only fetish

I could not have put it better myself and I think we may both have the same scriptwriter on how we became involved with this rubber fetish. Not that I regret any of it !

It is not that clear that is has nothing to do with genetics, as sexual orientation can partly be explained by genetics, so why not a sexual orientation for a specific material? In that case it would be a bit wider than just "Mackintosh raincoats", but genetics could very well explain a part of how some people are attracted to rubber, which is closely linked to macs.

Second, fetishes can be "taught". I've read about experiments where they mixed pictures of specific objects (let it be stocking, high-heels, whatever) with pictures of attractive women. The men (adults, obviously) who went through that mixed pile often enough later showed a reaction to just a picture of the specific object while they did not have such a response previously. It works in the same way as Pavlov trained his dogs, as the brain connects one thing to the other. You can do the same with your partner: give them mindblowing sex and combine it with a specific item, a Mackintosh lying on the bed next to you for example, and over time they might get aroused by just the mac. The mac on the bed is easy, the other part not.

FInally it is pretty well documented that fetishes can be found in both men and women. The rates of occurance seem to differ, but that doesn't mean women cannot have a similar liking to macs like you.
