Until outdoor festivals are properly back up and running, rainwear as we like it, isn't likely to make that much of a resurgence. Let's face it, we live in the age of the car, so for most women now the only time they wear proper raincoats is when they are outdoors for a long period of time. So that means walkers and hikers (boring technical Goretex) or festivals (funky pvc/plastic/rubber rainwear).

Pete, I think you are right. Festivals have been a good source of funky rainwear, and have the knock on effect that their effect permeates to the mainstream, so hopefully the high street will become shinier places with festival rainwear.

When i go out in my long below the knee plastic raincoat i seem to get strange looks as if i am going to flash at them. I am 72 years old and remeber the days when everyone wore or carried a pac a mac. Now i sit in my pvc maids uniform and love it, curtsy from jenny
