It's long ago I wrote this !
Yet it is still true.
Unfortunately it has rained very few here in the Western part of The Netherlands.
Next week we go to Suoth Germany ,my wife and me, I hope it will rain some days , my wife doesn't.
T have a German raincape and my wife a plastic coat ,so I will see.
I should like that she wanted a cape, but she doen't like "those things ".
Greetings ,
Peter

I enjoy my PVC rainwear so much that I wear it outdoors when the weather is appropriate.
As a man, I feel that I can 'get away' with a unisex-style shiny black or glass clear (including the coloured glass clear varieties: green, blue, black and red) PVC raincoat. Not when it is sunny, of course, but when it is raining heavily. I also go out in public with those glass clear PVC dome/bubble umbrellas, which complement rainwear made from the same plastic material- PVC/vinyl.
PS: just in case anyone is wondering: I'm absolutely not into crossdressing or TVism; it is just that the PVC rainwear which appeals to my tastes (namely, shiny and glass clear) tends to be targeted more towards women than men. Men's PVC raincoats are in drab colours (e.g. shades of grey) and have a matt finish, which does not appeal to me whatsoever. Of course, if a man were to wear in public a distinctively feminine style or colour, such as shiny pink (which is not something I personally would dare do!), then he should brace himself for more than a few funny stares and comments! I'll leave the shiny pink rainwear for my girlfriend, who appreciates PVC rainwear as much as I do!

At long last, I've figured how to get a picture into Rainwear Central.
And here she is!!
But it's not PVC but rubberized satin.

Fully kitted out for the British weather.
Unisex black shiny PVC rainmac, full-length
Fulton clear PVC dome umbrella
Now I just need a pair of shiny PVC or rubberised rainboots

My wife and I were both wearing our Black PVC coats yesterday and were complimented on our practical rainwear when we were in a local garden centre. Interestingly the person giving the compliment was a young female cashier.

I love everything about PUL's full-length unisex fashion mac in shiny, soft and smooth black PVC; so much so that it is one of my raincoats I enjoy wearing outdoors when the weather is appropriate. I also own (and wear outdoors in inclement weather) a few of their replica 1980's-style 'jelly jackets' in glass clear colours. They are advertised as women's jackets, but as long as the colour is not, for example, in bright pink, the jacket is not particularly feminine, IMO. As a child of the 80's I remember these jackets well; captivated by their shininess and bold colours, I was envious of the boys and girls at school who wore them, and remember begging my parents to buy me one- to no avail. Well, finally, 26 years later, I finally own not just one of them, but several.
