I have an SBR Trenchcoat from Weathervain: I went once to be measured just to confirm my size, then went back about 5 weeks later to pick it up. It was a wonderful experience, and not in the least bit scary.

I don't wear it as often as I should, but if you'd like to learn more about my experiences then please fee free to drop me a message here on this site.

I got my Sbr trenchcoat from Weathervain...they are very helpful indeed...and trying them on is always advised, as they have a number in stock.
Parking can be a bit of a problem there...but always well worth a visit. Private me if you need a hand.

I have bought raincoats and souwesters from weathervain in the past and they are very well made and last a long time if looked after.
The Shrewsbury is a nice mac, but do you want a long raincoat or a shorter one such as the trench coat style?

I have always bought the sbr macs in the past but you will be spoilt for choice once you are there. Rubber socks is quite right, they are very good with helping you make the right choice after all they are quite expensive raincoats.

Coming from south wales I usually only visit the shop twice a year, I will probably call in there soon but not before around the 1st or 2nd week of next month.
I don't know much about mentoring etc , but if you would simply like an honest opinion in whatever mac you liked then it would be good to meet perhaps during my visit to weathrvain next month and talk to someone with a genuine rainwear interest.
As my storm clouds long sbr trench coat is coming to the end of its useful life, I will be going to look at a replacement .

Weathervain is a good shop and they make great mackintosh's. It's worth getting them to custom one for you. A couple of years ago they made me a rubber lined SBR mac which made the coat very heavy it's like wearing two macs! I then added on a extra top button and neck strap and an extra wide belt..and leg straps and a hood and it's 50 inches long. It's the perfect SBR mac and when worn on a wet day with rubber gloves and black Hunter wellies..I'm in heaven!

If you need someone to go along with I could meet you and hold your hands as you go into Weather Vain shop.

I endorse all the positive comments about Weathervain, having purchased PVC macs for my wife and myself over many years.

The advantage of visiting the shop is that by trying on various macs yo can understand the different cuts of the macs. A trenchcoat has a more relaxed design whereas the Shrewsbury is a more fitted feel. A neck strap is an advantage if you plan to go for walks in the rain as it stops the rain running down the open top of the neck area.

Enjoy your purchase. It will be a good investment.

Weathervain shop has not been a thing for the last 3 to 4 years. I think everything is done online. Popping in is no longer an option.
If I am wrong, then please correct me.
