Well I hope that once I've had some private time 'bonding' with my coat I will muster up the confidence to go out for a walk in it.

Now, if you are a CD person, I can see that the satin part may be an issue.

Well, in that case, buy a rubber-lined male mackintosh. I have two, both single-textured and I've never received anything but an OK.

And Westlondongal, how about this?

Get in touch with Weathervain and ask them to make you a robe/bathrobe made from satin-lined rubber.

Cheaper than a mackintosh but it might give you an idea.

Ooooooooo, I like the sound of that.....but I'm going to take the plunge and order coat on Monday. Black I think, but I'm liking the green today too. Wish I have loads of money to just get each colour lol

OK, and good luck with the purchase. Let us know what color etc you ordered.

When the mackintosh arrives we want to hear all about it and your first walk outside wearing it.

One thing my wife was concerned about was the odor from her new mackintosh. Now this might be good news or bad news depending on your mackintosh fetish, the odor seems to come from the material they use to seam the pieces together, but the odor does go away in a little while.

But the "feel" of the satin and the wonderful sound it makes does not.

Question regarding fitting. Is it generous the smaller end of sizing? If that makes sense? My bosom area may be a problem
