Carol wrote: August 15th, 2020, 7:23 am I wore plastic Pakamacs in my teens. The first time I ever put one on, little did I realise that within seconds, I would be hooked on them for life. I have no idea what it is about them that holds such an allure for me. Instantly, I felt that I would stand out like a sore thumb, they looked a bit hideous, I felt a little humiliated having to wear one but the feeling was so exciting. Numerous plastic macs followed in my teens until my early twenties and I branched out into ladies nylon Pakamacs with their distinctive chunky buttons.

Different makes of both nylon and plastic macs would follow in the coming decades. Genuine Pakamacs slowly disappearing from view. To be honest, I thought in the eighties, the quality of the plastic Pakamac seemed poorer. However in 2018, in my sixties, my interest sparked again when I bought my first men’s Genuine Pakamac from an eBay seller and my love of them immediately reignited. I was amazed that wearing men’s macs would be so enjoyable. I now am the proud owner of numerous men’s genuine Pakamac Plastic macs, one men’s nylon Pakamac, one ladies plastic Pakamac and 3 nylon ones. What an utter thrill it is to return to them.
Hi Carol
I found your comments really fascinating, and enjoyed reading them. But to make me understand them even more, please may I ask your real gender ?

Thanks
Derek

I too remember the sheer thrill of getting a brand new plastic raincoat when I was about fourteen, when my mum took me to central manchester to get a new mac for herself, which was always a natural translucent one, which I loved seeing her in, so I actually asked if I could have one too, instead of my usual gaberdine raincoat. And I can still remember the delight as I was made to slide into a filmy grey one, and even now I remember her putting it on for me, for she even fastened the plastic buttons right up to my chin, and what a delight that was. So I grew up never being bothered or ashamed about it, for I even used to borrow mum’s mac from time to time, but having my very own plastic mac was such a wonderful feeling, and so have loved them ever since, and still do.
But I never preferred the nylon ones, for it just had to be a soft smooth filmy plastic one from Pakamac, which were so common then, now sadly missed.
However, mum never seemed to care if I wore my mac or not, even if it wasn't raining, for to her it was nothing more than a raincoat. For after my elder brother died, I used to wet the bed, and so always had to have a plastic sheet, and so just grew up with the regime of always having a plastic sheet on the bed, with a normal sheet over it, until one day, mum actually found me wearing the plastic sheet wrapped around me, so just gave up, and never even blinked an eye about it, and that’s how I came to love my plastic things, and still do.
I know this may seem like a fantasy, for after my dad had died, I so needed a comforting thing in my life, and still do.
But Please don't think of this as a fantasy, for it really was something I grew up with, and so have always loved soft smooth filmy plastic ever since that time.
This is not a fantasy, for I will never be found without my plastic mac, so please don’t be shy about your fetish, for its nothing more than a foible, and nothing more than that.

Do you wear your Bri nylon overall with your Pakamac?
