Should macks be hooded?

Macs, macks, Macintosh… collars (with hidden hoods maybe?) lol
Cagoules, kagools, kagoules lol should all have hoods, with draw strings, and drawstrings at the bottom hem, elastic cuffs and be worn daily! Lol

Hats only seem to work in non windy conditions. So a hood depends on how often you are out in the rain. How windy it gets. Most west coast towns, it will always be a hood. As it always stay firmly fastened.

As a primary school student in the mid and late 60s, only 'bubs' (pre-school) raincoats had attached hoods. Boys wore jet black or industrial 'battleship grey' (but nowhere near industrial strength) plastic raincoats, with sou-wester, or got wet. Girls of course had the choice of the full rainbow in plastic raincoats, red the most popular colour followed by royal blue, and had the choice of the matching sou-wester or clear concertina rain hat. Maybe two thirds went for the rain bonnet. Umbrellas were far too cumbersome (and expensive) for primary schoool use. As I went through high school, the now telescopic umbrella (or the super-trendy clear 'dome') removed the need for any other rainwear for girls, except where demanded by the school's uniform requirements, or by practicalities such as riding a bike (pre-helmets). Some boys, mostly the more 'nerdy', still wore plastic or nylon raincoats. SWs were virtually unknown, umbrellas (black of course) a massive cue that the user was a bit too overseen in himself. All the above items had overtones of 'soft'.

As one who mainly rode a bike in those days, I can't imagine attached hoods being anything other that a damn nuisance, either too big and flopping over your face and taking away most of your peripheral vision, or too small and light and having no wind resistance. Personally I don't like them as a 'look' on anybody, but I still spend enough time on Planet Earth to remember that there are many issues that matter more to people in their dress choices than what I may think. If you prefer hooded macs, they should be available.

I think all the mac must have hood, I prefer ankle length raincape with unattached hood, so when you put on in the rainy day , that raincape will give you great secured feeling.
