At last rain in London

Post by Anotherraincoat »

At last heavens have opened in London today, so good excuse to put my cagoule on with trousers, and slip over my cape

Happy days

Hi Anotherraincoat. Will you be going on the tube in your gear? Nothing like being squashed against somebody else while you have gear on, especially if they also have some 'proper' rainwear on.

Just thinking that although claustrophobic I wouldn't notice it if squashed between half a dozen others in various macks and wellingtons

Likewise here in Wales, the heavens opened. Mind you that is not unusual over here. Wonderful to pop to the shops this morning in my latest aquisition from ebay. A cream coloured nylon mackintosh.

Johnnyrbr , this used to happen on most wet days for me , not on the tube but on BR SR commuter trains into london in the 50s , all the secretaries , typists and other office workers all in damp rubber lined heaven , squashed up against them in the overcrowded trains , the smell ! and you couldn't help touching them !

Likewise, I am wearing my shiny rubber raincoat today, a tad warm wearing it, but worth it. I will be doing the same later today, hope to see some other sightings on the tube home.

What a great day in London! I went in for a meeting and wore my rubberised yellow HH jacket and a pair of Le Chameau Chasseur wellies - perfect for the torrent of rain.

I was amazed at how few Londoners wore any form of rainwear, let alone wellies - tragic!
