Saw a film last night on talking pictures the spiral staircase 1945 it had one scene where a man in a nice wet mac was following a women outside in his mac only caught last bit of film wonder if the film has any other scenes with macs or raincoats

Don't know about that but my fav. old mackintosh film which can still be bought on Amazon is Sophia Loren and Anthony Perkins in 5 miles to midnight.
Sophia Loren wears a lovely black mac in several scenes.
